POINT SYSTEM

We use a "point" system to award students for the time they put into environmental initiatives.

Oftentimes many of the excursions that we take part in have limited spots available.  To make it fair for the club members to attend weekend and other "recreational" opportunities, we decided to keep track of the service and educational activities that the students voluntarily attend, and give them credit in the form of "points," which we use to rank the students for preference when choosing attendees for recreational trips.  It is a system that has worked well over the years and has increased participation in community service and educational projects dramatically.  It essentially gives preference to those students who deserve recognition and rewards for their hard work.

Points will vary for certain circumstances, but here are the general guidelines for earning points:

Meetings
1 point per full meeting attended
1/2 point per unattended meeting that the students commumicates with an advisor about info covered

Service
1 point for every 1/2 hour of service project participation

Education
1 point for every hour of educational experience scheduled that is attended
